Full- or part-time MLS or MLT weekend package position for hospital laboratory. Position
includes either six or seven 12-hour shifts in a pay-period, day and/or night shift. Also rotating schedule for holidays and periodic fill-in for day shifts.

Virginia Gay Hospital, established in Vinton in 1923, is an independent, nonprofit critical access hospital supported by a strong local community. The organization includes a 25-bed hospital and four family medical clinics located throughout Benton County, Iowa, offering high-quality, local healthcare and opportunities for professional growth and meaningful patient relationships.

Position Summary
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (from job description)
•Candidate will be responsible for specimen testing in all laboratory departments; including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood-bank, PCR testing, and urinalysis. Phlebotomy skills are also necessary, will train.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (from job description)
The incumbent must meet the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations standard which became effective in January 2025.
Prefer incumbent to be certified with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
