Department: Laboratory
Shift: Night
Working Hours: 1900-0700
Summary:
Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses with limited supervision. The MLT's job includes preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the clinician to utilize the data when making treatment decisions.
Other information:
  1. Entry Level Position with an Associate degree in chemical science, biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  2. National Registry for Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent) preferred. Must be registry eligible.
  3. Completes training in at least two rotations within the first six months of employment, as required per hospital.
  4. Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis, interpretation, and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures.
  5. Must possess good communication skills with the public and other hospital staff.
  6. Possesses the desired attitude and knowledge for Other duties as assigned.

This job will be authorized 76.00 hours bi-weekly.
