Job Description:

The Health Sciences Division at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applicants for an Adjunct Instructor, Medical Laboratory Technology.

The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for presenting material in the assigned Medical Laboratory Technology course(s), assessment of students in the cognitive, psychomotor, andย  ย  affective learningย domains, course assessment and improvement including participation in student, course, and program learning outcomes, as well as (National Accreditation Agency of Clinical Laboratory Sciences) NAACLS outcomes.

Teaching Performance:ย  Provide students with course materials including syllabus, grading/attendance policy, and other relevant information in a timely manner; relate instructional materials, discussions and all course activities to course objectives; demonstrate effective instructional methodology as documented on the class visitation form; use practical examples and illustrations; pace the instruction over the semester; provide students with timely evaluations; provide evaluation results in a timely manner; relate evaluations to course objectives; follow acceptable department and college grading policies.ย  Assist in the planning process of developing program course outcomes and assessments.

Curriculum / Instructional Development and Management:ย  Develop and maintain course documentation; review and select textbooks; maintain appropriate materials for courses taught; schedule class and lab times effectively; continuously improve curriculum, instructional techniques, and integrate best practices of instructional delivery. Submit reports in a timely manner; maintain accurate records; manage the classroom environment for effective learning.

Advertised Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.ย 

Minimum Requirements:

Possess a bachelor's degree and be certified as an MT/ MLS by a nationally recognized agency (ASCP or AMT).ย  Have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience working in the clinical laboratory.ย  Must have documentation of experience and expertise in the field of laboratory medicine.

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education teaching experience preferred, which can include precepting MLT students.
