POSITION SUMMARY: Facilitate in the manufacture of quality brake pads.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Using computer input data to read formula and measure compound.
• Requires extreme accuracy and attention to detail in preparing batch mix.
• Knowledge of measurements and ability to measure in kilograms.
• Ability to discriminate between shades of mix.
• Ability to read and interpret all formulas and specifications for each style pad mix
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with 600 ltr and 71 ltr. mix tank equipment.
• Extensive clean-up is required resulting in disassembling and reassembling die components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently during 12 hour period.
• Perform quality tests such as moisture content, specific gravity, and appearance tests of mix and test piece.
• Follow all safety guidelines with special emphasis on correct lifting procedures.
• Position requires operator to wear N95 disposable respirator.
• Safety glasses and hearing protection are required in this area.
• Strict adherence to 5S concept to prevent contamination of mix compounds.
• Good organization and planning to assure all mix is available to meet production schedule requirements - KanBan system
• Notify production supervisor and quality assurance supervisor of any problems affecting quality
• Complete all paperwork to report production, use of raw materials and quality testing performed.
• Excellent attendance
