Join Our Team as a Surface Mining Automation Director at Epiroc!

Your mission is to lead a new organization within the Surface Division focused on delivering customer value across Automation in Surface Mining, with full accountability for the business's P&L performance including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability. This leadership role will drive the development and execution of automation strategies spanning Autonomous Drilling, Haulage, Blasting, and Bench operations with the LinkOA platform while leveraging artificial intelligence and data-driven capabilities to enhance decision-making, optimize performance, and create differentiated customer value.

As a key leader within the Surface Division in the Equipment and Services Business Area, you will operate in a rapidly evolving, cross-functional business environment-integrating mining solutions, interoperability, and digital platforms-to accelerate innovation and deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions. The role will champion AGILE development principles, break down traditional silos, and ensure alignment across product, engineering, and commercial teams to maximize value creation and successfully deploy next-generation automation and data-driven technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale the Surface Division automation organization with full accountability for delivering customer value across Autonomous Drilling, Haulage, Blasting, On-Bench operations, and integrated digital solutions.
  • Own the end-to-end business performance (P&L) of automation solutions, driving revenue growth, profitability, and cost efficiency while expanding share of customer OPEX through differentiated commercial models.
  • Define and execute the Surface Automation strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment across Autonomous Drilling Haulage, Blasting, On-Bench, LinkOA platform, and Data Analytics capabilities to deliver integrated, scalable connected solutions.
  • Drive development and adoption of the LinkOA platform as the backbone for interoperability, system integration, and data-driven automation across the Surface Division portfolio.
  • Champion data and analytics as core value drivers, enabling advanced decision-making, AI-driven insights, and continuous performance optimization for customers.
  • Lead a global group of product line and product managers, fostering a collaborative AGILE approach to solve customer problems while continuing to deliver value
  • Break down organizational silos across product lines, engineering, and commercial functions to enable seamless integration of machine, process, and digital automation solutions.
  • Partner closely with Automation Engineering leadership to align on development priorities, backlog management, and execution of high-impact programs tied to Autonomous Surface Mining and Construction solutions.
  • Drive customer-centric innovation through regular engagement with key mining customers, translating operational needs into scalable product and platform capabilities.
  • Lead successful product and solution launches, ensuring readiness across strategy, commercialization, training, and lifecycle support for automation and digital offerings.
  • Oversee deployment and delivery of automation solutions, including autonomous systems and integrated workflows, ensuring high-quality implementation and measurable customer value realization.
  • Develop and execute interoperability strategies to integrate Epiroc solutions with broader mining ecosystems, reinforcing leadership in open and connected automation platforms.
  • Enable commercial transformation by establishing new business models that leverage software, data, and platform offerings (LinkOA and analytics) to drive recurring revenue streams.
  • Ensure strong governance and execution discipline across automation programs, including prioritization, risk management, and cross-functional alignment.

Education & Experience:

  • BS in engineering or business, other degrees and equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office, Jira, and other software management tools required.
  • Experience leading AGILE development team is required
  • Experience with earth moving equipment or similar mobile equipment is a plus.
  • Minimum 5-10 Years of Work Experience
  • Experience from marketing, sales or communications
  • Good presentation skills
