Minerals Processing Engineer information
What does a minerals processing engineer do?
A Minerals Processing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing processes to extract valuable minerals from ores efficiently and sustainably. They work with various techniques such as crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching to separate and refine raw materials. These engineers collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and plant operators to improve plant performance, reduce waste, and enhance environmental sustainability. Their role is vital in the mining industry, ensuring that resources are processed safely and cost-effectively for further use in manufacturing and industries.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a minerals processing engineer?
A Minerals Processing Engineer should have a solid background in chemical or metallurgical engineering, mineralogy, and process optimization, usually supported by a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with simulation software, process control systems, and adherence to industry safety certifications like MSHA are commonly required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and clear communication help facilitate effective teamwork and troubleshooting. These competencies ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mineral extraction and processing in dynamic industrial environments.

About Us
Are you ready to be part of a team that is bringing revolutionary technology to the remediation industries?
DISA Technologies is revolutionizing mineral recovery with our patented High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) technology-an innovative solution that upgrades critical minerals from mined ore and legacy waste. Serving both the mining and remediation sectors, we recover valuable resources that power industry, strengthen energy independence, and restore contaminated sites to productive use. Our technology unlocks economic and environmental value, transforming how the world processes, remediates, and recycles essential mineral assets.
Job Summary
The Senior Field Project Manager will play a critical role in supporting the development, deployment, commissioning, and optimization of DISA's Patented HPSA technology for our Uranium remediation sector, particularly in Southwestern Colorado and the Navajo Nation. This position is field- intensive, with up to 75% of time spent in the field. The position involves hands-on engineering work, customer service support, and collaboration with multiple DISA internal teams and external partners. The Senior Field Project Manager will be responsible for successful development, construction, and deployment of our HPSA mining units to our Uranium remediation customers. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, wearing multiple hats and contributing to many areas of business development.
