Job Description - Senior Process Engineer (DEN008M)

Senior Process Engineer - DEN008M

Company : Worley

Purpose of the role

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide process engineering services to Worley and its customers while serving as a technical leader within the Process Engineering team. You will perform process engineering activities across refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, midstream, petrochemical, and related energy infrastructure projects while mentoring junior engineers and supporting multidisciplinary project execution.

You will develop, evaluate, and optimize process systems that support the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation, processing, storage, and handling of hydrocarbons and other energy products. Working closely with project teams and customers, you will translate operational objectives into practical engineering solutions that improve performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver long-term business value.

In this role, you will work with experienced multidisciplinary engineers to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions for energy transportation, processing, and delivery projects.

You will contribute across the full project lifecycle, from early concept studies through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup, while supporting customers in both traditional and emerging energy sectors.

Location:

This position will be based in Denver and will support a hybrid work environment that combines office collaboration, customer engagement, and project support activities.

The Denver office supports refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, carbon capture, and midstream infrastructure projects throughout North America and serves as a key engineering hub for customers seeking to modernize, optimize, and expand their energy infrastructure.

You will be responsible for
  • Delivering process engineering services that meet Worley, customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements while maintaining schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Leading and executing process engineering work for refining, pipeline, gas processing, terminal, midstream, petrochemical, and related energy infrastructure projects.
  • Managing process engineering scope, technical quality, and project execution requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing, reviewing, and approving key process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Material Balances (HMBs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process narratives, equipment datasheets, and technical reports.
  • Building and maintaining process simulation models utilizing Aspen HYSYS, UniSim Design, and other industry-standard software.
  • Performing line sizing, pressure drop calculations, hydraulic analyses, equipment sizing, and process optimization studies.
  • Developing process designs and specifications for separation vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, control valves, pressure relief systems, and associated process equipment.
  • Performing Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) sizing, overpressure evaluations, relief system analysis, and flare system studies.
  • Supporting pipeline and midstream projects through hydraulic modeling, flow assurance evaluations, and operational performance assessments.
  • Participating in HAZOPs, PHA reviews, risk assessments, constructability reviews, and process safety studies.
  • Providing technical input during procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational support activities.
  • Identifying process improvements, debottlenecking opportunities, capacity enhancements, and operational efficiencies for customers.
  • Collaborating with mechanical, pipeline, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and project teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Supporting proposal development, engineering estimates, project planning, and business development activities.
  • Helping resolve complex technical challenges while balancing customer objectives, project requirements, and operational constraints.
