Join our team and be part of an exciting execution-phase project in the North American mining industry. You'll play a key role in critical project phases, including performing due diligence investigations, as well as, performing Front-end Studies (PEA, PFS, and FS), Basic Engineering and, Detailed Engineering for Construction, across a variety of mineral commodities.
We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Senior Process Engineer to be based in our Denver office.
About the role

  • Contribute to the delivery of multidiscipline engineering design by liaising with other engineering disciplines, across the organization and with clients, during the preparation of engineering deliverables.
  • Interact with, and contribute to, the Global Ausenco Process Team.
  • Stay abreast of latest process technology developments.
  • Contribute innovation and lean thinking into process designs.
  • Develop and manage process scope of works, schedules, budgets, and define project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards .
  • Conduct PHA (HAZOP / LOPA), and process safety systems' design.
  • Contribute to pertinent sections of regulatory documentation such as NI 43-101 and S-K 1300 reports.
  • Support proposal development, bid strategies, and client presentations as part of business development efforts.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Must have PE licence (open to any state licence)
  • 10+ years of experience in front-end studies, trade-off evaluations and detail design projects related to mineral processing.
  • Preferred experience in areas of comminution, pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical, ion exchange (IX), solvent extraction (SX), and/or filtration plant design in critical minerals (REEs); precious metals (gold, silver, PGMs); base metals: (copper, lead, zinc); and, battery metals (nickel, lithium, cobalt) processing is desired.
  • Experience with metallurgical simulation software such as METSIMÒ, SysCAD or Aspen PlusÒ
  • Experience in a consulting engineering capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills in English.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ingenuity in providing engineering solutions.
  • Proven field experience (construction, commissioning and/or operations) a benefit.
  • Willingness to travel when required.

Salary Range: US$111,000- US$160,000
