Transition Assistance Program Clerk
Location: Hill AFB, Utah
Organization: Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC)
About the Role:
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Transition Assistance Program Clerk to support the Air Force Transition Assistance Program (TAP). This position provides administrative, scheduling, customer service, and classroom support to assist service members as they prepare for separation or retirement from military service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule TAP appointments and maintain calendars using Outlook and the AFFIRST system.
  • Contact eligible service members to schedule required TAP services and document all communication.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to emails, and provide exceptional front desk customer service.
  • Monitor organizational email inboxes and ensure timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Coordinate and manage TAP workshops, including scheduling, attendance tracking, classroom setup, and distribution of training materials.
  • Prepare classrooms, verify audiovisual equipment functionality, and support virtual training through Microsoft Teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and data in government tracking systems.
  • Assist customers with TAP-related forms and provide requested documentation.
  • Track and account for government-issued classroom equipment.
  • Protect sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal privacy requirements.
  • Support Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) operations when required.
  • Perform other administrative and clerical duties in support of the Military & Family Readiness Center.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of six (6) months of administrative, scheduling, customer service, or data entry experience, preferably in a military, federal, or comparable professional environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar, spelling, and professional correspondence.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer base.
  • Basic knowledge of Air Force or military terminology and military customs and courtesies is preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a favorable federal background investigation.
