Position Description
Reports To: Area Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for supporting all projects under contract and seeking maximum profitability for their area. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership and mentorship to Operations and Field staff. Works closely with corporate departments to support company processes. Emphasizes Faulconer Core Values at all times.
Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Takes a lead role in area safety management by identifying trends and supporting safety discussions
  • Participate in key project review meetings
  • Supports Area Manager in strategic outlook of the Area by identifying gaps in the workforce and evaluating job performance and maintains crew tracking list
  • Remains a primary Project Manager on key projects
  • Gathers information from the Operations team to examine overall equipment performance to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency of labor resources
  • Ensure all Faulconer processes are followed
  • Visit Jobsites Weekly; attend Daily Huddles, Safety Audits, and Project Progress Meetings
  • Responsible for the hiring, promotion, discipline, and evaluation of office staff and supports the Construction Manager in the same duties for field staff
  • Provide accurate job cost tracking and associated Cost-to-Completes
  • Provide upper management updates and notice on significant project issues or concerns
  • Provide mentorship for PMs, APMs, and Engineers
  • Participate in the assignment of projects to appropriate personnel
  • Review two-week lookaheads, project schedules, contracts, subcontract, and scope developments
  • Participate in key project pursuits and provide project-specific insight based on past performance and bid review experience
  • Provide Project teams with guidance and assistance as necessary with Customer Relations Triage/Project Problem Solving, Delay Notification, Claim Submission, and Large Change Order Negotiation

Position Expectations
  • This position operates in both an office and on construction sites
  • Will be exposed to various weather conditions, working around moving machinery/equipment, excessive noise, and dust/dirt on job sites
  • Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as protective eyewear, safety vests, hard hats, and appropriate footwear

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years working as a Project Manager in a construction environment
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, other departments, and vendors
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft, Heavy Job, HCSS Heavy Bid, P6, and Viewpoint
  • Personnel management experience

  • Employee must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Drug screens are required after an offer is accepted, and continued employment is based on the initial drug screen and any future/random drug screens administered.
  • A background check will be required.
  • A confidentiality agreement may be required.
  • Driving records may be required.
  • Further clearance may be required by clients (i.e. government or military site access).
