We are seeking a Library Technician to support our Virtual Technical Library (VTL) of the Military Sealift Command (MSC).


Job Description:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of the technical library including but not limited to
  1. Managing the utilization of available library space including rearrangement and redistribution of documents as advised by the Library Supervisor.
  2. Maintaining technical data spaces.
  • Data Entry
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Customer Service
  • Receive, Log and file new or revised documents and identify and purge obsolete documents.
  • Maintain the libraryโ€™s NavSea and Manufacturerโ€™s literature.
  • Maintain Virtual Technical Library (VTL).
  • Distribute technical documents as requested.
  • Order and maintain all supplies for the Library.
  • Distribute technical documents as requested including but not limited to:
  • Pick-up and delivery technical documentation to government facilities within 45 miles.
  • Travel to ships within the US and Outside US if needed by MSC COR/TPOC/Library Supervisor.
  • Go onboard ships, shipyards, contractorโ€™s facilities, and military bases to pick-up and deliver technical documentation.
Requirements:

Job Requirement:

Active Security Clearance Required

High School diploma or GED.

BA/BS preferred

3 to 6 months prior clerical, customer service or library experience.

Ability to go aboard ship for inventory/scanning projects.

Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat installing bookmarks in manuals.

Travel within or outside the US
