Monday - Friday 10:15 am-2:00 pm when school is in session (18.75 hours per week)
Rate $13.88 per hour
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
LSC Elementary Caf /Recess Supervisors will work directly under the supervision of the building principal or their designee. All LSC Elementary Caf /Recess Supervisors are responsible to supervise and ensure the safety of students during lunch and recess in accordance to guidelines established by LSC and the building principal.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal or Designee
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: No requirement
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Health: Reasonably good health and able to be outside at all times of the year
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Must be able to gain respect of students and supervise students
    • Must be able to work co-operatively with staff members
  • Dress: Appropriate dress is important for a good role model
  • Experience: No requirement.
  • Certification and/or License: No requirement
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and use appropriate language.
  • 95% work attendance required unless excused absence obtained from school. Absences must be called in by 9am daily.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Additional specific duties and responsibilities may vary at different schools. Typical duties assigned to Caf /Recess Supervisors may include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Line students up (alphabetical order) to enter the lunch line. Bring students to cafeteria.
2) Circulate in the lunch room constantly to assist students and monitor behavior.
3) Monitor behavior of students and take corrective measures when required.
4) Clean spills and pick up trash in the lunchroom. (Use mop and broom when needed)
5) Take students to play area and return students to classroom after lunch.
6) Know, communicate and enforce all lunch room, playground, hallway and restroom rules.
7) Communicate exemplary and inappropriate behavior with building administration and classroom teachers
8) Refrain from utilizing discipline methods that are punitive in nature.
9) Know, communicate and implement building-level emergency procedures.
10) Teach and expect good manners and proper etiquette from student.
11) Encourage students wash their hands before eating and after using the restroom.
12) Follow federal, state and local guidelines regarding the school lunch program as directed by the food service provider.
