Job description

A Tier 2 plastic injection molding company is searching for an Advanced Metrology Manager with the drive and experience to manage our Metrology Lab to exceed internal and external customer requirements and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to recommend and implement best practices including latest technology trends in the quality/metrology industry that will fit current and future needs
  • Lead capabilities development of both people and equipment, to include programing, training, GD&T training, equipment maintenance and calibration, and new technology implementation
  • Manages budget for test lab by monitoring spending both internally and externally on a continuous basis
  • Evaluate work request for requirements and completeness. Coordinates engineers and technicians accordingly while monitoring progress and resolving issues
  • Promotes and maintains a metrics-driven service organization with a defined system to accept, prioritize, and track work requests
  • Leads department continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) yearsโ€™ experience in manufacturing, engineering or within a testing/lab environment (Metrology Lab)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering, Physics or Computer Science from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of Management or Supervisory experience
  • Experience in testing of injection molded parts in a lab environment
  • IATF16949 familiarity
