Job description


We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic with a background in architectural sheet metal installation, including standing seam roofing and exterior metal systems. This position focuses on commercial applications requiring precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities:
Under the direction of a Foreman or Supervisor, install a variety of architectural metal systems including standing seam roofing, wall panels (ACM), flashing, gutters, downspouts, and custom-fabricated components. Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality installations that meet company standards.

Key Duties:

  • Install standing seam roofing, metal wall panels, flashing, trim, and drainage systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications (a plus)
  • Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal components for proper fit and finish
  • Identify and troubleshoot field issues; communicate with supervision as needed
  • Ensure all work meets quality control standards and industry best practices
  • Assist with layout, fabrication, and installation of custom architectural details
  • Maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and daily watertight conditions
  • Work on low- and steep-slope roofs in various weather conditions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in sheet metal installation, including architectural systems or standing seam roofing (at least one required)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as in a team environment
  • Experience with exterior metal panel systems and related components
  • Strong layout, measuring, and fabrication skills
  • Comfortable working at heights and outdoors year-round
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience in architectural sheet metal installation
  • Experience with architectural wall panel systems and/or standing seam systems from manufacturers such as PAC-CLAD (Petersen), McElroy Metal, Berridge, ATAS, CENTRIA, MBCI, Morin, Metal Sales, or similar
  • OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of building codes related to architectural metal systems

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly starting at: $25 and up (DOE)
