ROLE SUMMARY

Global Commercial Analytics harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer's most critical business questions.

As a team, we collaborate to turn data into meaningful insights that will have a direct impact on patient's lives and the future of Pfizer as a data-driven organization.

The Global Metadata Lead will lead a global team with services spanning across US, Canada, LATAM, EU, AFME, and APAC as a part of Pfizer's global metadata strategy program. The Global Metadata Lead will drive content metadata strategy, innovation, and automation with the aim of enabling robust analytics that transform and enrich ways that we engage with patients and health care providers. They will own the strategy for content metadata and ensure key systems are aligned with the global content taxonomy.

The Global Metadata Lead will serve as the overall metadata subject matter expert and will own the stewardship of content metadata on behalf of the commercial business. They will lead the design of a system that creates depth in content metadata which will drive content development, messaging, and channel/audience relationships. They will ensure quality, usability, and access to the data in addition to driving the overall metadata strategy.

This role will strategically collaborate across the metadata stewardship program as well as with data owners, senior business leaders at SVP and VP level, Biopharma Operations, Digital Master Data Management, our Agency Holding Company, and other Pfizer functions to operationalize, standardize, and strategically evolve key global services while ensuring robust data quality from both a process and technical perspective. This role will work closely with Global Commercial Analytics to ensure that content metadata efforts are tied to analytics outputs that support business objectives.

This role will report into the Global Data Strategy Acquisition Lead within the Chief Marketing Office and will have accountability for leading a team of colleagues with a mixture of direct reports and contracted support staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the strategy for metadata within the Commercial Biopharma organization at Pfizer
  • Govern metadata and align with enterprise systems and use cases, both global and regional
  • Collaborate with global data consumers to drive standardized data requirements
  • Author and manage the roadmap for all types of content and other domain specific metadata
  • Lead enablement and management of data quality reporting and improvement activities
  • Collaborate with global leads at SVP and VP level to drive innovation to meet evolving business needs
  • Drive improvements in global data accuracy
  • Ensure the standardized data taxonomy is leveraged as well as kept up to date
  • Identify and leverage best practices in the industry to refine Pfizer's metadata strategy
  • Look for efficiencies and synergies across teams who handle or use metadata
  • Lead a team of colleagues with direct reports and contracted support

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the escalation point for data quality work on a related basis
  • Develop strategies to ensure continuous data quality
  • Develop KPIs, quality frameworks, and monitors service delivery
  • Develop core KPIs, quality frameworks and monitors / track service delivery across Metadata Stewardship team and inputs into overall goals
  • Improve quality, consistency (One Pfizer), and compliance across BUs and countries
  • Drive coordination and control globally for content metadata
  • Increase the commercial teams' focus on launch strategy and customers
  • Reduce vendor spend with increased visibility of team (FTE) success
  • Enhance customer experience, with potential for improved relationships and brand trust
  • Foster strong connections outside the Pfizer network to benchmark Pfizer work and keep abreast of best practices
  • Possess a deep understanding of the global and regional business landscapes and BU strategies to determine key priorities
  • Proactively engage across CMO and the business to understand and ensure alignment of Biopharma client strategies
  • Determine optimal resource allocation and investment that enables efficient and high-quality output
  • Validate business definitions for metadata elements in consultation with senior stakeholders
  • Create and implement metadata management policies and procedures to ensure cross-organization compliance
  • Develop long-term metadata management strategy
  • Drive team to review metadata sources to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements globally/regionally on an ongoing basis
  • Create metadata structure guidelines to ensure consistency of information storage, organization, and access
  • Identify priority areas for metadata-related improvements
  • Manage communications with senior stakeholders on metadata topics ranging from innovation to issues that impact marketers

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to assess and direct vendor technical capabilities and manage risks in the analytic process
  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, deal with ambiguity, and lead teams through complex and challenging cross-functional projects
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic partner with the capacity to quickly establish relationships of trust, credibility, and be seen as a driving partner to commercial clients
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years' experience in an Operations Research, Data Governance, Data Strategy or equivalent role
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required
  • Demonstrated success in a highly fast-paced setting
  • Ability to influence without authority, setting business direction, priorities, and action plans
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with cross-functional teams of diverse colleagues
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters (or equivalent) preferred in a quantitative discipline

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $271,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
