The work schedule is structured as Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts, allowing for a predictable routine while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute personalized treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to established therapy goals.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and various modalities as needed, responding flexibly to patient conditions and progress.
  • Monitor and assess patients' responses to treatments, making necessary adjustments to enhance effectiveness and ensuring safety throughout each session.
  • Document patient progress and any changes in health status accurately, completing care and billing documentation, and ensuring Physical Therapist sign-off.
  • Serve as a vital communication link between patients and Physical Therapists, discussing treatment plans, progress, and patient concerns effectively.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, contributing insights from direct patient interactions to improve care strategies and departmental practices.
  • Perform various administrative and operational duties as assigned to maintain a smooth-running clinic.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will include a broad spectrum of clients, especially individuals in need of rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgeries, those requiring sports-specific training, and cancer patients benefiting from specialized oncology rehabilitation services. Your role will be pivotal in guiding patients through education on self-management techniques and therapeutic activities tailored to their unique personal goals, fostering independence and recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant through an accredited program is essential.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a clinical setting is required.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Virginia is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in oncology rehabilitation is preferred, particularly in helping patients manage symptoms and regain strength post-treatment.
  • Certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) is considered advantageous, though a willingness to obtain this certification is acceptable.
