Our agency is seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. In this role, you'll do more than room patients and assist providers - you will help remove barriers to quality healthcare to individuals and families that need it most. Responsibilities:
  • Assists the physician as needed, including rooming clients and documenting in electronic health records.
  • Assists with on-site physicals, immunizations, drug screens, and additional testing when scheduled.
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols, ensuring patient safety, specimen integrity, and proper labeling, handling, and documentation of all laboratory samples.
  • Performs special procedures such as electrocardiograms, TB skin testing, eye distance exams, vital signs, and audiograms.
  • Performs urine pregnancy testing, urinalysis, urine drug screens, breathalyzers, and other tests as necessary and as directed by the physician or Medical Office Manager.
  • Charts results of all testing, communications, medication, and all relevant information regarding patient care.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining patient files, charts, and follow-ups on an ongoing basis.
  • Places phone calls to convey physician information for referral, i.e., specialist, verbal orders for prescriptions, pre-authorizations, and related communications.

Requirements
  • Medical Assistant certification or 2 years' experience in medical or physician's office
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Computer and EHR experience
