We are hiring a Human Resources (HR) Generalist!

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist supports the Human Resources Department by serving as a resource to candidates and employees, accurately maintaining personnel records, assisting with day-to-day HR functions, and providing secretarial and administrative support. This position represents the front face of the HR Department and participates in career fairs and hiring events. A high level of organization, attention to detail, and professionalism is essential.

This is a full-time, temporary contract position with an anticipated duration of six months.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a knowledgeable HR resource for applicants and employees, providing guidance on policies, benefits, onboarding, and personnel matters.

  • Partner with recruiter and managers on recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and supporting career fairs/events.

  • Coordinate with recruiter onboarding activities such as background checks, I-9 completion, orientation, personnel file creation, and HRIS updates.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and manage personnel changes, internal transfers, and terminations in compliance with policy.

  • Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, audits of payroll deductions, changes, and responding to employee inquiries.

  • Assist with leave of absence processes (FMLA, medical, accommodations) and ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations

  • Provide employee relations support by assisting with investigations, guiding managers, and ensuring adherence to HR policies as needed

  • Prepare HR reports and ensure compliance with reporting requirements (EEO-1, ACA, OSHA, etc.), while leveraging HRIS data for analysis.

  • Assist in employee engagement, recognition programs, professional development, and survey administration to foster a positive workplace.

  • Provide administrative and departmental support, including reception coverage, correspondence, special projects, and initiatives for HR leadership.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education Level: High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Years of experience - Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required


  • Skills/Abilities - Proficiency in HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite. Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to work within deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Must be able to effectively problem solve and work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to the profession.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a healthcare or mental health setting is strongly preferred.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) ability is a plus.
