Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health statuses through engaging sessions, identifying their needs and challenges.
• Design and implement personalized therapy plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, integrating evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities.
• Facilitate regular therapy sessions, both individual and group, providing clients with tools and strategies to cope with their mental health issues.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated client care.
• Maintain accurate and updated documentation of client progress and treatment plans using our electronic health record (EHR) system to track outcomes and inform future therapeutic strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed, maintaining calm and supportive interactions in high-pressure situations.
• Engage in continuous professional development by participating in training sessions, workshops, and supervision to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at River Valley Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse range of patients, including adolescents and adults grappling with various mental health conditions. The clientele may present with issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, and relationship challenges. Your role will focus on building trusting relationships and offering culturally responsive care that recognizes the complexities of each client’s background and experiences.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid state license as a LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R.
• A minimum of four years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• Expertise in understanding mental health disorders and the application of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Ability to provide individual and group therapy using inclusive and culturally responsive methodologies.
• Solid crisis intervention skills with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect and empathize with clients from various backgrounds.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and computer applications related to clinical practice.
• Adherence to ethical guidelines, maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality at all times.
• Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance client outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a community health or outpatient setting is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivery of therapy in a remote format.
• Continued education or specialization in specific therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Compensation and Benefits
