This full-time position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing for a balanced work-life integration while providing essential mental health services to our community. As a vital part of our community health clinic, you will engage with clients, assess their mental health status, and devise tailored therapeutic strategies aimed at fostering their recovery and well-being.

About the Organization

River Valley Counseling Services is a committed provider of mental health care dedicated to improving the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. Our clinic serves a diverse population, offering comprehensive psychiatric and therapeutic services to address a wide range of mental health issues. Our team consists of skilled professionals who uphold the highest standards of care and compassion, ensuring that every client's unique needs are met with empathy and respect.

Work Environment

As part of a community health clinic, you will be part of an inclusive and supportive work environment that prioritizes both client and staff well-being. The remote work flexibility allows you to maintain a comfortable workspace while helping a community in need. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, enhancing the treatment you provide and fostering a holistic approach to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients by engaging in one-on-one sessions to determine their mental health status and treatment goals.
  • Develop personalized therapy plans that incorporate evidence-based practices for diverse mental health issues, ranging from anxiety and depression to substance use and eating disorders.
  • Provide regular follow-up sessions to monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed, equipping clients with the tools necessary to manage their mental health independently.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions with a focus on culturally responsive methods, ensuring all clients feel valued and understood.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) to document client progress and treatment plans compliant with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers, making referrals to psychiatrists or additional specialists when necessary, to co-manage comprehensive care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a broad spectrum of clients, including individuals managing chronic mental health conditions, co-occurring disorders, and those seeking support for life transitions or stress-related issues. Our clients come from varied backgrounds, allowing you to apply your expertise in culturally competent practices to better understand and serve each individual's unique experience and challenges.

Qualifications
  • A current Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A valid state license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) to practice in Oregon.
  • At least four years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health setting, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of various mental health disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, showcasing the ability to establish trusting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other office software to manage client data effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience delivering both individual and group therapy sessions and a proven track record in crisis intervention.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches and the ability to integrate these methods into your practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in culturally competent therapy practices.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Healthcare benefits to support your well-being and that of your family.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to secure your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to recharge and maintain your work-life balance.
  • Continuing education opportunities to support your professional development and growth within the field.
  • A collaborative team environment that values inclusivity and fosters opportunities for advancement.
Career Growth Opportunities

At River Valley Counseling Services, we are committed to your professional growth. You will have access to leadership development programs and mentorship opportunities, enabling you to progress within the organization while honing your skills in various therapeutic techniques and specialties.
