Job description

Overview
VTG is looking for a Mid-Software Engineer to join our team. This position will support a mission-focused customer developing, deploying, and maintaining user facing  Command and Control Systems for embedded devices. The software engineer will interface with and utilize device drivers from vendor provided SDK to implement custom business logic for the enterprise. The software engineer should have experience with enterprise backend development (preferably, with java), interfacing with a database, and some DevOps experience.
 

What will you do?
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  • Debug existing software and correct defects using a variety of programming languages (Examples: Java, JS, Vue, Python, C++)
  • Create and maintain a scalable, high-availability, mission system using modern system design principles.
  • Create docker containers and/or Kubernetes pods and clusters.
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Create, modify, and improve automated testing frameworks and setting up CI/CD pipelines through Gitlab.
  • Generate automation scripts as appropriate to improve workflow and efficiency.

Do you have what it takes?
  • Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or related discipline. May substitute four years' experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
    Seven (7) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
    Experience with a mix of programming languages desired, preferably java and/or c++ development in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Gitlab
 

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $175K-$210K annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or related discipline. May substitute four years' experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
