Job description

Radiology Ltd., a 500-employee medical imaging organization seeks a part time Medical Records Specialist. This position is located at a site on the East Side of Tucson. Hours are 8 am - 2 pm Monday-Friday
The Medical Records Specialist provides excellent customer service to patients, providers and internal staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Answers telephone calls in a polite and professional manner
  • Faxes reports to provider offices throughout the day
  • Utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems
  • Handles and routes requests for medical records, CDs, film or paper images and/or reports for delivery to referring physicians, clients and patients
  • Documents the release of PHI in all appropriate systems
  • Analyzes and reviews medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation according to specified standards
  • Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve electronic health information
  • Initiates requests for prior images and reports from outside imaging facilities

Experience: We are seeking employees that have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with the following attributes:
  • Phone etiquette skills must be exceptional
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Customer Service oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Windows based PC applications including sending and receiving email

  • High School or GED required at time of hiring.
