Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Communications Strategist to join our team in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal. The ideal candidate will have expertise in communications planning and analysis, media and social media analysis, and a strong understanding of military culture. This role requires developing effective communications products and while adhering to Army branding guidelines, AP Stylebook, and Army.mil style guide. The Communications Strategist will play a key role in stakeholder analysis to ensure messaging aligns with organizational goals and audience needs.

**This position is pending funding and will be fully onsite.**

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications plans that support organizational objectives.
  • Conduct media and social media analysis and reporting to inform communication strategies and measure effectiveness.
  • Create and produce a variety of communications products, including press releases, articles, social media content, and internal communications.
  • Ensure all communications adhere to Army branding guidelines, AP Stylebook, and Army.mil style guide standards.
  • Perform stakeholder analysis to identify key audiences and tailor messaging accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain consistent and effective communication efforts.
  • Stay informed on military culture and current events to ensure relevant and respectful messaging.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in communications planning and analysis.
  • Strong skills in media analysis and social media analysis including the use of analytical tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of military culture and protocols.
  • Ability to develop clear, concise, and engaging communications products.
  • Familiarity with and ability to follow Army branding guidelines, AP Stylebook, and Army.mil style guide.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder analysis to inform communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience in military or government communications is highly desirable.
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • Must have and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
