Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer / Graphic Illustrator to join our team. This role will support our ground-breaking electromechanical and electronic access control (EM/EAC) solutions by translating complex product information into clear, engaging, and customer-centric documentation.

This position will sit onsite full-time in New Haven or Berlin, CT.

  What you will be doing:

Create comprehensive, customer-facing technical documentation for electromechanical and electronic access control hardware
Collaborate with product development and product marketing teams to develop a deep understanding of products and customer needs
Translate complex technical information and procedures into simple, clear instructions and user-friendly guides
Develop and manage product documentation schedules aligned with new product introductions
Utilize publishing and commercialization software to produce high-quality documentation
Review and improve existing technical and marketing materials
Generate animated renderings to support product visualization
Create promotional graphics for digital marketing campaigns
Partner with external vendors to coordinate static and animated graphical elements

What we are looking for:

ASEE/ASET certification (or equivalent electronic certification) preferred
2-4 years of experience as a technical writer preferred
Experience with technical illustration and graphical modeling desired
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience using XML tools for documentation preferred
Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Flexible, service-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency

  Additional skills desired:

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (including Visio)
Experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite tools
Familiarity with SolidWorks
Experience with KeyShot or similar rendering software preferred
