Mechanic Helper Job Summary: 

A1 Transmission & Marine, INC. is actively seeking a dedicated and industrious individual to join our team. This role involves supporting our shop mechanics with various tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate physical and mental aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and accountability.

Moreover, candidates should display a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge in Diesel Engines, Diesel Generators, Marine Gears, and Powershift Transmissions found in Heavy Equipment & Heavy Marine. Key duties include assisting mechanics, performing general shop labor, and running part errands as instructed by the General Manager and Office Manager.

Mechanic Helper Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Assists mechanic in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Wash Parts and housings using various hand and air tools
  • Carry tools and equipment to and from storage and work areas
  • Assist in keeping work areas clean
  • Oil and grease machines
  • Clean parts and machines with various solvents and wiping rags to prepare for repairs
  • Keep storage areas clean, organized, and maneuverable

Mechanic Helper Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Valid Driver’s License required with Clean Driving Record
  • Punctual, dependable, and have a sense of urgency
  • Able to work in a team and produce quality work under tight deadlines
