Job description

Knowledge with Semi Tractors engine repair, trailers, other general automotive maintenance and rebuilding skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Willing to work in diverse weather conditions and over-time when needed. Must be organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated. Must have good driving record and dependable.

General Duties:

·         All major and minor repairs to trucks and trailers

·         All general automotive repairs

·         Help Maintain inventory of supplies and parts

·         Assist with maintaining written records for repairs

Key Responsibilities:

·         Assist with service calls

·         Perform PM services, oil changes, grease jobs, etc.

·         Check tires for wear, air pressure, etc., or replace

·         Perform federal inspections and document

·         Perform brake inspections and repairs on tractors and trailers         

·         Check all lights, bulbs, etc. on trucks & trailers, and replace as needed

·         Check all wheels on tractors & trailers. Check for cracks in rims and missing lug nuts

·         Check shocks, air bags, springs, dollies, air hoses, glad hands, steering box, rear ends, transmissions, radiators, water hoses, windshield wipers, wheel seals, oil gaskets, etc.

·         Go get parts and supplies when needed
