The Quality Control Lead performs quality checks at all touch-points in the product's journey through the warehouse including inbound, storage, production line, and outbound boxes. They are the first person to review study data, so attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving are essential.
The Quality Control Lead reports to the Quality Supervisor and is an important member of the operations team. By prioritizing food safety in the warehouse, your expertise ensures that our customers continue to receive the high-quality, delicious, and affordable food they love.

  • 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM Monday-Friday

What you'll be doing:
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with all state and local regulations for a food-based facility.
  • Performs frequent QC Inspections on produce and grocery products throughout the warehouse, removes and documents any items that fail inspection.
  • Documents and maintains legible, accurate records of all food products in the warehouse including discarded and damaged products from various departments.
  • Responsible for validating the quality and accuracy of inbound deliveries, including temperature and pressure checks. Maintains databases and internal spreadsheets with current data.
  • Identifies and reports any potential food safety or quality problems, immediately escalating to the QC Supervisor.
  • Performs basic mathematical computations when conducting audits, inspections, and cycle counts.
  • Ensures non-conforming materials are segregated and labeled for hold, rejection, or sort.
  • Owns the inbound quality inspections and documentation processes. Verifies the quality and shelf-life of products in backstock and storage.
  • Reviews internal communication channels for inbound trends and reimbursement reports, and makes plans accordingly.
  • Effectively manages time and changing priorities to minimize downtime in the receiving and production departments.
  • Applies strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to train new team members according to company processes.
  • Serves as backup to QC Supervisor and QA Lead, represents the FC in times of QC Supervisor's absence.

What you have:
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience or comfort with working in a refrigerated environment (36 degrees)
  • Strong verbal communications skills
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or possible weekends if the business needs you to
  • Ability to thrive in a repetitive and fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice for you to have:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
