Job Description

The Assistant Meat Manager will perform all the duties and job functions of an experienced clerk. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions. The Assistant Manager will assume the responsibility of the Department Manager in their absence. Responsibilities:
Maintain strict adherence to department and company safety guidelines
Assign duties to the team as needed
Cut retail cuts of beef, pork, lamb and veal
Grind sausage
Order product
Merchandise product
Ensure company standards for the department are met or exceeded
Inspect product for freshness
Write work schedules and train new teammates
Provide excellent customer service
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter; or equivalent related work experience is required.
Experience operating a meat saw and grinder
Leadership experience as a Head Meat Cutter/Meat Manager preferred
The position is 40 hours per week. Flexible availability including weekends is important in our retail environment. Hours may range from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates:

  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Store Support Center Teammates:minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
