• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients, addressing a wide range of health-related issues, including mental health concerns and substance abuse.
• Provide immediate crisis counseling, conducting both assessments and interventions as needed, particularly during high-stress situations.
• Collaborate on referral responses received via Maxient, ensuring accurate documentation and timely updates to patient records according to established standards and regulations.
• Maintain exceptional confidentiality in all patient records and interactions while adhering to federal and state laws.
• Implement and facilitate professional development initiatives and outreach programs aimed at students and staff, enhancing overall mental health awareness and education.
• Consult with students, faculty, and staff regarding psychological challenges and appropriate support strategies, sharing best practices for mental well-being.
• Design and deliver targeted mental health services and wellness programs, including outreach activities to promote mental health awareness and academic success.

This role primarily focuses on supporting a diverse population of students and community members facing various mental health challenges. Our clients span a wide demographic, which may include young adults experiencing academic pressures, individuals navigating life transitions, and those dealing with trauma or substance use issues. The mental health counselor plays a crucial role in fostering a safe space for clients to explore their concerns and work towards meaningful solutions.

• A Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a closely related field is required.
• Current licensure as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or similar credential in the state of California. Note that we cannot accept applications with an associate license due to Medicare billing constraints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Word for documentation purposes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple cases effectively.
• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently without direct supervision.

• Experience in geriatric counseling is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic medical record systems.

The salary range for this position is competitive, providing yearly compensation between USD 50,000 and 122,000, depending on experience and full-time or part-time status. Full-time employees can expect a salary range of USD 80,000 – 122,000, while part-time positions offer USD 50,000 – 70,000.
