As a remote mental health counselor, you will be part of a dynamic team that operates with a patient-centered ethos. The work setting leverages advanced telehealth technologies to facilitate real-time communication with clients. This innovative platform allows for seamless interaction during virtual therapy sessions, enabling our counselors to support clients effectively. You will be provided with all necessary tools and resources to ensure an efficient workflow from your home office, including access to our electronic health records system, Maxient, to manage patient documentation securely.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive and confidential treatment plans and patient records, adhering to both federal and state regulations.
• Deliver individual and group counseling focused on mental health issues, substance abuse, and other personal concerns.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to identify client needs and develop targeted interventions to support their mental health and well-being.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during emergencies, ensuring that clients receive timely assistance in distressing situations.
• Organize and lead mental health outreach initiatives aimed at promoting wellness, academic success, and student retention.
• Consult with faculty and staff to provide guidance on best practices for supporting students dealing with mental health challenges.
• Utilize Maxient for managing referrals and tracking patient interactions and outcomes efficiently.

The patients we serve include a diverse demographic, from college students facing academic pressures to adults dealing with varying levels of stress and emotional challenges. Our counselors engage closely with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions, ensuring a tailored approach that reflects the unique cultural and social backgrounds of our clients.

• A Master’s degree in counseling, social work, clinical psychology or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Licensure in the state of California as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or similar is essential, as candidates with an associate license cannot bill through Medicare.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with telehealth technology.
• Exceptional ability to manage multiple cases and work in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on building rapport with clients and colleagues.

• Experience working with geriatric populations is preferred, though it is not a strict requirement.
• Demonstrated track record in successful crisis intervention strategies and mental health outreach programs.

• Annual salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 122,000 based on experience and full-time vs. part-time status.
