Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dallas Mavericks are looking for qualified applicants to experience a professional work environment by assisting the Data Analytics, Customer Relationship Management Department with a variety of independent and group projects.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
  • October 1, 2026 - April 30, 2027. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs)
  • Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Monday mornings.)
  • Must be able to work up to 29 hours per week (3-4 days/wk.), which may include nights and weekends as needed.

JOB FUNCTION:
This position will be responsible for assisting the Analytics team with various tasks related to but not limited to data management, fan analytics, and Salesforce CRM management. Other tasks may include:
  • Daily updating of Reporting and Dashboards.
  • Assist with CRM related tasks assigned to Analytics by various departments.
  • Develop data visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to provide business teams with actionable insights.
  • Handling CRM Duplicate (Merge) Requests and List/Campaign Building/Segmentation.
  • Develop queries in SQL and Python to curate fan demographics data.
  • Self-manage and execute ad-hoc analytics projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft, Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Able to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects at once, and take initiative.
  • Possess a high-level understanding of data structures and ability to learn data wrangling tools/languages such as SQL, Python, Alteryx, Power BI.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with other employees, vendors, fans and customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be a current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Majoring in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Sports Management.
