Job description

Hexcel is currently seeking a Projects Manager for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Manage site capital budget and capital projects (up to $9M), which would include, but not be limited to, scoping and estimating the projects, authoring capital expenditure requests for the same, leading multi-functional project teams, providing cost and schedule control, identifying required resources, and coordinating between all affected parties
  • Conduct FMEA's with supplier and local technical team to mitigate risks with the project
  • Coordinate with the local technical team to ensure key project and site objectives are met
  • Communicate project status with senior employees and project stakeholders; develop and delivery formal presentations to management as necessary
  • Develop proposals or RFQ's for the purposes of scoping or estimating capital investments; work with vendors and/or contractors to optimize system performance
  • Manage the procurement process for capital expenditure projects, including interface and negotiations with suppliers of equipment and services
  • Prepare and maintain Engineering drawings, including Engineering and Process Flow Diagrams, Assembly Drawings, and Detailed Design Drawings
  • Design and/or troubleshoot systems related to instruments, controls, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer
  • Develop technical specifications, ensuring that equipment conforms to local specifications and availability and evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
  • Provide oversight for commissioning and startup of new or modified equipment and ensure maximum possible duplication of the best chosen process technology at all impacted sites

Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to perform safety analysis, especially HAZOP or FMEA
  • Demonstrated ability to both work within and lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in developing and reading of mechanical design drawings
  • Experience with Six Sigma improvement principles
  • Oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities
  • Knowledge and experience with basic process drawing layouts with emphasis on PFD's, P&ID's, and controls
