Its core competences are the development, production, distribution and servicing of diesel, gas and electric drivetrains for professional applications that is used in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment, stationary equipment, commercial vehicles, rail vehicles and other applications.
Job Summary
The Material Planner will provide a continuous supply of the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time to fulfill inventory, customer, and production needs in the most efficient way by keeping the working capital/inventory at a minimum. The Material Planner would achieve these goals by using complex data analysis to identify optimal value-chain processes and other material-related activities for improvement. The ideal candidate will provide steady communication with internal teams and suppliers as well as external suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and control the supply of the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time to the right destination/customer in the most efficient way from the point of origin to the point of consumption to meet internal/external customers' requirements to ensure fill rate goals are achieved.
  • Communication and follow-up on purchase orders to suppliers both internal and external
  • Analysis of demand and other business and technical dimensions to formulate and develop a production material plan
  • Communicate with the sales and production team on supply constraints
  • Monitor vendor-managed inventory
  • Attend daily production meetings and provide status of component shortages
  • Sustain/maintain desired inventory/supply level and improve supplier performance
  • Escalate and Support Supplier Risk Management
  • Work with suppliers to meet and exceed expectations
  • Monitor vendor on-time delivery performance, On-time in full (OTIF) performance, supplier capacity against production orders and forecasts
  • Analyze material demand behavior
  • Monitor safety stocks
  • Implement optimized demand planning strategies
  • Future Outlook on Production Planning/Scheduling
  • Inventory/Working Capital Management
  • Manage inventory levels by monitoring and executing corrective actions
  • Ensure obsolete materials are minimized to provide minimum liability/scrapping requirements
  • Proactively seeks cost reductions within daily Essential Functions
  • Assist warehouse operations and logistics by focusing on inbound transportation and stocking methods to reduce costs associated with the procurement and handling of inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Expertise in material requirements, production planning, inventory control, and expediting techniques.
  • 1-3 years of purchasing/material planning experience

Preferred Requirements
  • BS Degree in Supply Chain or similar business/manufacturing field
  • Certifications in Supply-chain a plus.
  • SAP Basic Skills or similar ERP System Experience
  • Proficiently with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel

Physical Requirements
  • Employee must be able to regularly lift 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Daily concentration, sitting, communication, verbal, standing, hearing/listening, lifting and bending.
