As a Material Planner with us, you’ll work closely with customer service, sales, purchasing production and inventory control as you take on responsibility for maintaining an efficient flow of materials to maximize efficiency, eliminate hindrances (labor and material shortages plus backlogs) and assume compliance with materials requirements

What You’ll Be Doing Planning and Scheduling
  • Drives effective material flow to meet customer contracts and delivery dates
  • Using sales forecasts, lead times, and customer orders drives efficient manufacturing workflows that minimize overtime and maximize output
  • Plans and schedules material flow for each operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Monitor’s material requirements and availability coordinating with inventory and procurement
Communication and Coordination
  • Communicate with the production team daily to prioritize changing critical shipments, special projects and safety stock
  • Communicate with customer service team and sales personnel about critical orders, special projects and daily orders for customers
  • Coordinates with design engineers on part number setup and First Article Inspection requirements for new customers or new products
  • Communicate with purchasing team and inventory control manager to resolve shortages or delays in production due to materials
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inbound receiving team to receive and distribute materials for the production team
  • Resolves job problems reported by the production team and executes short term and long-term solutions
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Works within ERP system, utilizing MRP, to schedule firm work orders
  • Analyzes data and reports to create efficient scheduling
  • Develop metrics and reporting to measure output and performance of the production team
  • Monitors and tracks order and maintain manufacturing workflow to deliver on-time. Prepares production reports
  • Analyzes production specifications and production capacity data and performs calculations to determine manufacturing processes and tools
  • Confers with Production Supervisor to determine status of assigned projects or production runs

  • Associates Degree from two-year college
  • ERP experience, specifically Sage
  • Scheduling / Planning certification
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Possesses strong analytical thinking
