Forklift Operator and Material Handler

Job Summary

This role involves operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, and stack materials within the warehouse or production facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in compliance with safety guidelines and company procedures.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring accuracy in material handling and placement.
  • Transport materials and products to designated areas within the warehouse or production facility.
  • Move and load raw materials and finished products as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using scanning systems or manual logs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts and report any issues promptly.
  • Assist in inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock management tasks.
  • Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production and shipping deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid forklift operator certification/license (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, and receiving procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Work Environment

  • Warehouse and production setting.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • May require standing, bending, lifting, and extended periods of physical activity
