What are material handlers?

Material handlers are workers responsible for moving, loading, unloading, and managing materials within warehouses, factories, or distribution centers. What Is the Job of a Material Handler?

The job of a material handler differs slightly across industries, which include manufacturing, warehouse supply, or retail. In production, your duties are to procure and deliver products or raw materials to the production floor to be assembled. You may use specialized equipment to move supplies, such as forklifts. In retail, such as working at a second-hand store, your responsibilities may include sorting through donations at distribution facilities or stock rooms and performing quality control to ensure materials meet company standards.

Many roles require the use of forklifts or other equipment, and some positions offer overtime pay or benefits. Salaries can vary based on certifications and the complexity of the work environment.

What is the highest pay for a Material Handler?

The highest pay for a Material Handler can reach around $20 to $25 per hour or approximately $40,000 to $50,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and industry. Senior or specialized Material Handlers with certifications or in high-demand regions may earn higher wages.

What are the duties of a Material Handler?

A Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. They often operate equipment such as forklifts, maintain inventory records, and ensure proper handling and safety procedures are followed.
