Material Handler 1 | Sumter, South Carolina, United States Material Handler 1 - Injection Molding Department - Sumter, SC
[About the Role]
Join a fast-paced, safety-focused team as a Material Handler 1 in our Injection Molding Department. This is a contractor opportunity where you'll play a vital part in warehouse operations through accurate order processing, palletizing, and shipment preparation. We offer hands-on training and cross-training opportunities to build your skills in material handling and warehouse logistics.
[Responsibilities]
  • Stack boxes, build pallets, and prepare materials for shipment
  • Use pallet jacks and receive training on forklift/reach truck operation
  • Scan bar codes, pick and label orders using RF technology
  • Ensure accuracy in order picking, packaging, and shipment verification
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas in compliance with SOPs
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices and safety protocols at all times
  • Assist with dock manifest duties, shrink wrapping, and warehouse security
  • Support cross-training efforts and provide backup to other warehouse roles

[Required Skills and Experience]
  • High School diploma, GED, or 1+ year relevant experience
  • 5 years of material handling or warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks (walking, standing, reaching)
  • Experience operating pallet jacks; comfort with RF scanners
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic organizational and prioritization skills
  • Willingness to work in a metrics-driven, fast-paced environment
