Job Summary

DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Pricing Analyst - Material Cost Estimator for our Supply Chain team.  This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule.  This role will support DoD proposals, develop costing strategies, generate costed bills of materials, develop material basis of estimates, and provide supporting analysis.  This position will partner with proposal and program management teams to align material cost estimates with bid strategy, ensuring submissions are competitive and compliant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimating: Conduct material cost estimating, analyze price reasonableness, and prepare internal supporting documentation.  Utilize Deltek Costpoint, IBM Cognos, Microsoft Excel, and Deltek ProPricer to complete this process.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration: Work with purchasing and engineering functions to optimize material cost estimating, determine supplier quoting strategy and ensure comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Proposal Development: Generate material basis of estimate for proposal submittals, providing accurate and well-supported packages.
  • Contract Negotiation and Award Reporting: Support contract negotiations with updated cost estimates and the disclosure cost or pricing data as required.  After award, provide artifacts to program execution team detailing awarded material basis of estimate by part number.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain cost traceability linking supplier quotes, historical data, and pricing rationale to proposal submissions for audit readiness and internal transparency.
  • Measure target costs against proposal costs and work with Supply Chain Management on methods to meet targets.
  • Work with other functional areas and be able to support and present material estimates to executive level management.
  • Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal customers.
  • Assist department staff with various analyses for the specific area of expertise.
  • Provide routine status and track outstanding actions and issues.
  • Look for creative ways to improve purchasing ability to make contributions to the company's goals.
  • Review requests for proposals to identify and assist the proposal team in developing responses.
  • Analyze estimates against previous cost experience and recommend adjustments.
  • Provide guidance to the team and senior management in the execution of new business cost proposals including providing counsel on RFP, FAR, CAS and disclosure compliance issues.
  • Establish and coordinate schedules, monitor and escalate problems, develop cost/price models.
  • Assist with pricing cost narrative, price strategy, risk assessment, business case analysis, and preparation/presentation of management briefings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Data Science, Business or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in DoD procurement, material planning, or estimating within an aerospace/defense production environment
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, strong data analysis, and familiarity with material estimating/proposal processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures able to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and make decisions
  • Understanding of DoD estimating requirements
  • Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on cost reduction

The salary range for this position is $79,919.00/year- $103,895.00 for the state of Illinois.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
