What Jobs Can I Get With a Master's Degree in Economics?
A master’s degree in economics opens up far more jobs than just a bachelor’s degree in the same field. Careers that typically require a graduate degree include the roles of an economist, professor, policy analyst, finance manager or analyst, data scientist, policy researcher or analyst, statistician, or consultant. You find a large number of economists in the public sector at the local, state, or federal levels. Working for the government may mean working in research and analysis of proposed policies both for politicians and for government agencies and administrations. Many economists also work in the private sector to help businesses analyze financial trends and make recommendations for future economic growth.

Masters Economics focuses on economic theory, policy, and research, often involving advanced quantitative methods. Data Analysts primarily interpret data to inform business decisions, using statistical tools and software. While both roles require strong analytical skills, Masters Economics is more research and policy-oriented, whereas Data Analysts are more business and technology-focused.
