Job description

Position Summary...The Manager, Tax will support the development and execution of global tax planning strategies and help ensure compliance with international and domestic tax regulations. This role requires strong knowledge of international tax principles, along with tax planning and research capabilities to analyze and document tax positions across the enterprise.
About the team:
The Global Tax Team at Walmart is responsible for managing the company’s tax strategy, compliance, and risk across all jurisdictions where Walmart operates.  Given Walmart’s global scale, this team plays a critical role in ensuring tax efficiency, legal compliance, and alignment with the company’s business strategies.  What you'll do...
  • Support global tax planning initiatives by analyzing complex tax concepts to optimize financial outcomes and support business strategy.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to address complex issues and help mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on internal restructurings and other corporate transactions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive tax documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to support the development and implementation of tax planning strategies.
  • Partner with team members to identify opportunities, contribute to team objectives, and support decision-making in complex situations.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to support compliance and inform strategic decision-making.

What you'll bring:
  • 4+ years of experience in income tax planning.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • MBA, Master’s in Accountancy or Tax, or a JD with a Tax LLM. 
  • Strong project management and communication skills to effectively manage tax-related initiatives.
  • Proven ability to conduct tax research and prepare clear, well-supported technical documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, and business teams.
