Job description

WuXi AppTec is looking for a Marketing Manager with well-rounded skills based in the greater San Diego area. The Marketing Manager plays a key role in crafting and executing the company’s marketing strategy. This individual is responsible for marketing planning, managing tradeshow and event activities, contributing to digital marketing initiatives, and ensuring effective CRM utilization to support branding, lead generation and customer engagement. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands‑on, with strong project management skills and a passion for driving measurable results.

Please note this job is remote in the Boston or San Diego area. 

Marketing Planning & Strategy
  • Participate in marketing strategic planning and turn marketing strategies into actional marketing plans aligned with business goals
  • Monitor industry and market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights
  • Collaborate with leadership, content, scientific and sales teams to align messaging and priorities
  • Initiate marketing campaigns and track effectiveness
Tradeshow & Event Management
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of tradeshows, conferences, and customer events in assigned areas
  • Manage booth materials, logistics, vendor relationships, and onsite execution
  • Responsible for accurate and prompt lead collection, entry into CRM, assignment to sales and marketing follow-up
  • Develop pre‑ and post‑event marketing promotions to maximize lead generation and follow‑up
  • Track event performance and recommend improvements for future participation
Digital Marketing
  • Contribute to digital marketing initiatives by working with dedicated content and digital marketing resources, including website content, SEO, paid media, email marketing, and social media
  • Manage content calendars to enhance brand awareness and lead generation
  • Monitor digital analytics and optimize campaigns for performance and engagement
CRM Management
  • Serve as a member of the CRM team; develop workflows, segmentation strategies, and reporting dashboards for assigned areas
  • Use CRM insights to refine marketing campaigns, nurturing effectiveness, and user behavior, and improve customer lifecycle management
  • Support user adoption of HubSpot and Salesforce processes through documentation and operational guidance
Reporting, Dashboards & Insights
  • Analyze campaign, channel, and funnel performance across systems
  • Provide performance summaries explaining results, drivers, and optimization opportunities
  • Support post-campaign reviews and retrospectives to identify learnings and process improvements
  • Maintain recurring reports and dashboards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and BU teams to support campaign execution and lead management
  • Monitor feedback related to marketing engagement and effectiveness for continuous improvement
  • Conduct other functions as assigned
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, or Chemistry.
  • 3–7 years of experience in marketing, with exposure to planning, digital marketing, and event management
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation abilities
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Based in the greater San Diego area
Preferred
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Experience in the life science, pharmaceutical development or medical device sectors
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution
