Job description

One of the best-known names in cruising, Princess is the world's leading international premium cruise line and tour company, carrying millions of guests each year to hundreds of destinations around the globe. We give our guests the Medallion Class experience others simply can't. The Love Boat promises something for everyone.
The Director, Marketing Enablement owns the strategy and hands-on implementation of the marketing technology stack that powers consumer marketing at Princess Cruises. Reporting to the AVP, Marketing Enablement and Campaign Operations, this role has direct technical responsibility for the design, configuration, integration, and ongoing operation of the Adobe Experience Platform suite, including Real-Time CDP and Adobe Journey Optimizer, as well as connected systems such as Movable Ink and Attentive. Operating within the broader martech and data strategy set by the AVP, the Director sets the strategy and roadmap for the Marketing Enablement vertical and is accountable for turning it into working technical capability: architecting and implementing data models, customer journey automation, building and maintaining integrations with source systems, and ensuring the platforms our cruise and casino marketing teams rely on are reliable, scalable, and built for personalization at scale. This is a technical leadership role for someone equally at home in solution design and in business conversations: fluent in the architecture but focused on the marketing outcomes it enables..
Here's a summary of what Princess is looking for in the Director, Marketing Enablement - Princess. Is this you?
Responsibilities:
Martech Stack Ownership & Platform Architecture:
  • Own the end-to-end architecture, configuration, and administration of the marketing enablement stack (Adobe Experience Platform, Real-Time CDP, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Orchestrated Campaign, Sales Force Marketing Cloud and all of the supporting tools, both Internally developed and from 3rd parties).
  • Design and maintain data schemas (XDM), identity resolution, and customer segmentation frameworks.
  • Manage environments, releases, and platform governance across development, staging, and production.
  • Set and enforce technical standards, naming conventions, and platform documentation.

Data Integration:
  • Design and deliver data integrations between the martech stack and source systems (IT, web, app, contact center, casino, and the data warehouse) via APIs, streaming, and batch pipelines.
  • Own ingestion, transformation, and data quality for marketing data flows, including monitoring and alerting.
  • Partner with IT and Data & Analytics on identity, consent, and the unified guest profile.
  • Implement event collection, tag management, and SDK instrumentation across digital properties.

Enablement Strategy & Roadmap Delivery:
  • Set the strategy and roadmap for the Marketing Enablement vertical, aligned to the Consumer Marketing and Brand Marketing strategies.
  • Translate marketing and campaign demand into a sequenced, delivered capability roadmap for consumer marketing.
  • Lead solution design for new capabilities such as personalization, decisioning, and journey orchestration.
  • Run intake and technical delivery for enablement requests from marketing, casino, and insights teams.

Team Leadership & Technical Enablement:
  • Lead and develop the skills of the marketing enablement team, activation team, and other martech connected teams.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance, configuration, and solution review.
  • Keep the team trained and certified across core platforms, building technical depth and redundancy.
  • Champion AI-enabled capabilities and new platform features within consumer marketing.

Governance, Compliance & Platform Performance:
  • Own technical governance, including data privacy and consent implementation, access controls, and platform security, in partnership with IT, Privacy, and Legal.
  • Ensure data quality, deliverability, and platform performance against service levels.
  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures for the stack.
  • Track platform health and adoption metrics and drive continuous improvement.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Scope: The Director, Marketing Enablement holds direct technical ownership of the consumer marketing technology stack at Princess Cruises, supporting cruise and casino markeint across the brand's global markets. This role owns platform architecture, data integration, and technical delivery of marketing capabilities, operating within the strategy, roadmap, vendor relationships and budget owned by the AVP, Marketing Technology and Automation.
  • Problem Solving: This role solves highly complex technical problems at the intersection of marketing and data: diagnosing integration failures, audience and identity discrepancies, deliverability drops, and data quality issues across connected systems. Solutions require deep platform knowledge, the ability to trace data lineage across source systems and the martech stack, and sound judgment about architecture trade-offs. The Director anticipates the downstream impact of system changes, sprint releases, and schema updates, and designs resilient solutions that keep marketing operations running.
  • Impact: By owning the technical foundation of consumer marketing, this role directly determines how quickly and precisely Princess can target, personalize, and measure. Reliable architecture and clean, well-integrated data enable personalization at scale, faster campaign delivery, and accurate measurement, driving revenue and guest loyalty across the purchase cycle, pre-cruise, cruise, and post-cruise journey for both cruise and casino lines of business.
  • Leadership: The Director leads a technical team and serves as the senior technical authority for the marketing enablement stack. The role leads through both direct management and influence: guiding internal and external resources, setting technical standards, and partnering with IT, Data & Analytics, and marketing leaders to align technical delivery with business priorities.
  • Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of enterprise marketing technology architecture, including Adobe Experience Platform, Real-Time CDP, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud; data modeling and schema design (e.g., XDM); identity resolution; API and data integration patterns; and data privacy and consent frameworks.
  • Skills: Hands-on platform configuration and administration; SQL and data modeling; solution and data architecture; integration design across APIs, streaming, and batch; technical documentation; and strong communication that bridges technical and business audiences.
  • Abilities: Ability to translate marketing strategy into technical solutions and explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders; manage multiple concurrent initiatives; lead and develop technical talent; and maintain reliable, high-quality delivery and professionalism across all interactions.

For all roles:
  • Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.
  • Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Essential/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degrees and marketing or business background a plus.
  • 10+ years in marketing technology, data engineering, or solution architecture, including 4+ years leading martech platform implementation and operations.
  • Hands-on expertise architecting, configuring, and administering Adobe Experience Platform / Real-Time CDP and Adobe Journey Optimizer (or comparable enterprise CDP and journey orchestration), plus Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering data integrations (APIs, streaming, batch) between martech platforms and enterprise source systems.
  • Strong data modeling and SQL skills, with experience in schema design (XDM), identity resolution, and audience and segmentation.
  • Working knowledge of tag management, event and SDK instrumentation, consent and privacy implementation.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Essential Experience Required:
Minimum Qualifications (if preferred but not required, list as such):
  • Adobe certifications (Experience Platform, Journey Optimizer, Campaign) and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications; cloud or data architecture certifications a plus.
  • Experience supporting marketing across multiple lines of business and global markets, including casino or gaming.
  • Experience integrating AI-driven personalization, predictive modeling, and automated decisioning frameworks.
  • Experience designing Customer 360 and unified guest profile ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse or data lake environments and BI and reporting tools.
