Position Summary

The Marketing Associate is responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in the execution of sales projects and marketing strategies, including digital marketing, content development, and graphic design. 


Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

These are the tasks, duties and responsibilities expected for this position. The company reserves the right to revise these tasks according to business needs. 


ESSENTIAL TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Assist with the design of the biannual feature and correlated follow up tasks
  • Design and write various marketing elements to be used in sales and marketing efforts including, but not limited to, website advertisements, email campaigns, flyers and sell sheets, and upkeep of current marketing items
  • Help manage and maintain our digital marketing presence (blog, social media, website, marketing emails) including, but not limited to, helping to develop strategy and schedule with the marketing team, creating and posting content, managing interactions with other social media users, and analyzing effectiveness      
  • Help develop strategy and schedule with the Marketing Team
  • Assist in expanding the publishing efforts of Chosen Spot Publishing including, but not limited to, website updates (Wordpress), book series research and development, book design
  • Enact Sales and Marketing campaigns as instructed including direct mail, email, and additional types of customer outreach
  • Work with Operations to maintain inventory records within the company database, including scanning cover art of new titles, writing descriptions, and assigning themes and age ranges
  • Assist in the generation and distribution of sales analyses for marketing and initiatives
  • Assist in the management of sample books and sample shelves
  • Assist in the management and organization of marketing materials and conference preparations
  • Other duties as needs arise


Position Class Duties

In addition to the regular duties of your position, you may be expected to perform other organizational tasks as required by the class designation of your position. Your position class determines the scope of your responsibilities and relationship towards other employees in the organization.

  • Periods of extreme demand or workload requiring cross-departmental reallocation of labor
  • Performing to new business requirements with no clear assignment of duty until such time as it can be codified into a new or existing job description

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates in Marketing, Advertising or related field or trade school degree 
  • Proficiency with computers and applicable business software including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
  • At least one year experience in design with Adobe software: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented
  • Well-organized with tasks, work areas, and time
  • Must have the ability to think critically, manage, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to change with the ability to think creatively in solving problems with a continuous focus on customer service
  • Punctual; motivated
  • Displays initiative; self-starter; does not need to be micromanaged or constantly told what to do; willing to ask for help
  • English speaking


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field
  • Previous experience as a Marketing Associate
  • Experience with MAC OS, Adobe, Microsoft Teams, Dropbox, and Apple Mail
  • Experience with NetSuite or other e-commerce software
  • Two years experience with Adobe software
  • Prior experience with general public (customers) a plus
  • English/Spanish bilingual
