This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA or our Seaport Boston, MA location with Mondays and Fridays remote. The Consumer Insights Manager will serve as the voice of the consumer throughout the organization to keep the consumer in the forefront of all of our decisions. By leading with the consumer, marketing can activate and develop meaningful and successful brand strategies, communication, marketing plans and new innovations. The ability to deploy strong consumer mindset & business acumen, synthesize marketplace trends, and to inspire and socialize insights across the organization are critical to success in this role. This role demands excellent business partnering skills and strong knowledge and expertise with classic and emerging research tools and methodologies.The Consumer Insights Manager plays a key role in the development and execution of Ocean Spray's brand strategy by partnering with key stakeholders through the insight discovery and execution process. As part of the Insights Team, you will be an internal "voice of the consumer" and strategic business partner to the Ocean Spray marketing and innovation teams working to identify big ideas that drive significant growth for Ocean Spray.A Day in the Life...Strategic Business Partner with Business Unit:Embedded into the business team with a seat at the table representing the integrated voice of the consumer and market to ensure learnings are embedded in decision making.Provides an in-depth understanding of consumer, customer and market to provide insights that are embraced, acted upon and lead to business growth.Possesses a broad business acumen that allows engagement in the entire business needs, including market analytics, consumer, shopper and trends. Works to raise the business team's consumer and analytic understanding for their business, a continual learning environment.Comfortable speaking up and challenging status quo based on consumer learningsGeneral Manager for all Insights Activities:Develop, manage and execute consumer insights learning plan to support brand strategies, innovations, communication and marketing plans. In partnership with marketing identify key questions to solve for, appropriate research approaches/methodologies, and budgets.Lead vendor and agency partner research projects to select the best methodology and tools to maximize learning and gain value from projects. Incorporate macro trends into everyday activities and articulate how these trends influence our consumers mindset.Pull disparate pieces of data together to uncover insights and then create concise and compelling stories to bring those insights to life. Manage and lead brand equity studies, positioning, communication testing, new product concept and product testing, and larger strategic projects such as consumer segmentations.Actively contribute and partner with marketing and other cross functional teams such as R&D and sales. Manage the research budget for respective business unit.What We Are Looking For:Bachelors Degree required and 8+ years of experience in Consumer Insights, Market Research, Analytics, or a related field, with a demonstrated history of leading complex insights initiatives that influence business decisions.Proven track record of shaping business and brand strategy through deep consumer understanding via both custom and syndicated research, going above and beyond simply delivering the research results. Expertise across both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with the judgment to determine the appropriate approach for complex business challenges.Proven ability to synthesize multiple, disparate data sources into compelling business recommendations that drive measurable growth.Evidence of strong analytical skills; ability to use research as a tool in decision makingAbility to influence and lead within the organization as a functional research expert and thought partner - can both execute the research with rigor and influence business decisions with dataWillingness to stretch outside of comfort zones and seek constant improvement of techniques via leveraging outside partnersWillingness to develop self in both syndicated and custom research approaches. Must exhibit evidence of strong empathy and experience with consumer observation and ethnographic research as well as both analytical and creative thinking abilities.
