What role you will play in our team

We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Market Development Manager to lead the execution of market strategy and development of the market understanding for new business opportunities in the Batter Sector / Energy Storage space for ExxonMobil. This role combines deep domain expertise, innovation leadership, and operational excellence to develop new business opportunities, market understanding and commercial relationships.

What you will do
  • Responsible for establishing vision and direction for the assigned market segment, driving its development and growth in alignment with the overall business strategy for the Energy Storage Platform. By working individually or leading cross-functional teams, they identify enhance segment expertise for the team, develop new solutions and build long-term competitive advantages for the targeted market segment. Energy storage includes battery components, new energy storage technologies, and new business models for EM market participation in large scale stationary storage as well as mobility applications.
  • Segment Strategy Development: Develop segment strategy with detailed execution plans including pipeline targets, channel strategy, value chain engagements, marketing communications activities, trade show participation, and key customer engagement plans
  • Value Chain Engagement: Lead, develop, and strengthen value chain engagement and influence key decision makers on solutions in line with segment strategy
  • Value Proposition Development: Create and maintain detailed competitor profiles and comparative analyses, integrating insights into the segment's value proposition with timely updated Value in Use (ViU)
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Guide cross functional teams in planning and completing new market development projects
About you

Capabilities and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years in Energy Storage areas such as battery components / system, new energy storage technologies, and large stationary storage and mobility applications
  • Broad market development capability with leadership experience in developing and / or executing in new business spaces
  • Trained in product / application development technologies
  • Business model design experience, including technology licensing models
  • Global relationship development experience
