A marine superintendent is a transportation manager who coordinates operations and maintenance for vessels in a shipyard. In this career, your role can be that of a nautical superintendent or a technical superintendent, or both in a smaller marine transportation company. As a marine superintendent, you are a point of contact between each ship, including shipowners and commercial operators. Your duties include conducting dockside inspections, drydocking, arranging repair and maintenance, enforcing safety regulations, and handling the budgets for the ships in your purview.
