Job description

Hinckley has been building and servicing America's finest yachts since 1928. Today, Hinckley builds highly innovative, power and sailing yachts from 29 to 76 feet under the Hinckley, Hinckley Sport Boat, Hunt, and Morris brands. Hinckley Yacht Services offers a network of 9 full-service yacht yards from Maine to Florida. Our team is looking for a seasoned Marine Service Manager to support our Maryland operations. Focus on Baybridge Marina.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify maintenance and customer service needs to define scope of work.
  • Produce estimates for service requests and achieve customer approval with a reasonable delivery date
  • Schedule workforce and equipment while considering project budgets
  • Ensure quality control by performing inspections and verifications of job tasks prior to billing and vessel departures
  • Maintain and monitor service jobs in process and obtain customer approval for growth work or scope change
  • Communicate with customers and act a liaison between company and customer, ensuring frequent visits to vessels and staying abreast of schedule to ensure agreed launch dates
  • Prepare, track, and manage correct invoicing to customers including accounts receivables
  • General sales assistance for boat shows and other marketing events
  • Travel off-site for boat inspection and estimates.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years in marine industry possessing strong knowledge in power and sailboat terminology
  • Initiative-taking, self-starter, organized and able to multi-task
  • Ability to ready, analyze and interpret, blueprints, drawings, technical information, financial reports, and contracts
  • Exceptional customer service skills with experience
  • Experience estimating boat repairs, hours, and costs
  • Works well individually without minimal direction and as a team member
  • Ability to communicate in a polite and clear manor in high stress situations
  • Previous boatyard/shipyard experience preferred
  • Available for occasional travel
  • Proficient in MS Word and excel
