Job description

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We're searching for a Map Product Analyst I.

We are looking for a Product Analyst, Mapping Operations to act as a critical connector across engineering, data analytics, policy, and operations. In this role, you will be responsible for improving tools and operational efficiency by analyzing performance metrics to uncover root causes, converting complex data into actionable operational strategies, and informing priorities for product development.

In this role, you will

  • Execute comprehensive root cause investigations into operational inefficiencies by detecting process bottlenecks, analyzing cross-user patterns, and examining throughput fluctuations.
  • Synthesize qualitative findings from focus groups, user shadowing, and user session evaluations into high-impact, actionable reporting.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to provide test support for product development, offer technical feedback on automation tools, and resolve gaps in validation.
  • Utilize insights from Training and Policy teams to conduct focused quality reviews, uncovering error patterns and mapping discrepancies overlooked by automated systems.
  • Establish new evaluation frameworks and KPIs to assess the impact of product deployments on tool performance in production environments.
  • Design and execute A/B tests and experiments to provide data-driven insights to inform product priorities and process improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in operational analytics, quality assurance, process improvement, or a closely related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing in-depth root cause analyses on operational workflows or large-scale workforce performance.
  • Proven experience conducting user research methodologies, such as direct user shadowing, focus groups, or user acceptance testing.
  • Proficiency in SQL or similar database querying languages to extract, manipulate, and analyze user efficiency and quality data independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by creating documentation for analysis results and presenting findings in clear, concise, and organized manner.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within Geographic Information Systems (GIS), mapping operations, or the autonomous vehicle industry.
  • Experience monitoring, auditing, or managing the performance of third-party vendor workforces.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or similar process improvement certification.

The base salary range for this position is $72,000 - $108,000 per year.  Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
