SUMMARY
The GIS Analyst provides technical expertise in geospatial data processing, quality control, analysis, and data management in support of client projects. This role is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining high-quality spatial and tabular datasets, performing spatial analyses, and ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle. The GIS Analyst works closely with project teams and clients to translate requirements into reliable geospatial data products that support decision-making, reporting, and visualization.
LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO or Charlotte, NC In-Office daily
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
The candidate will join a team of professional staff focused on delivering high quality data and geospatial analysis to our customers.
Specific tasks will include:
  • Working with geospatial tools and technologies including Esri ArcGIS and open source platforms
  • Performing geospatial analysis, data collection (georeferencing and digitizing), data automation, QA/QC, and mapping activities
  • Creating web-based cartographic maps, reports, and presentations
  • Translating customer business requirements into technical solutions and workflows
  • Documenting processing workflows, methodologies, and project findings
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Not applicable.
EDUCATION:
  • Associates degree in a Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing or related accredited educational program or equivalent work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2-3+ years of professional experience as a GIS analyst with knowledge of GIS concepts and technical skills related to data development, data analysis, data management, and data visualization
  • Proficiency with ESRI's products including ArcGIS Pro, Portal, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Server
  • Proficiency with open source technologies: QGIS, PostGIS
  • Demonstrated ability to develop geospatial processes to support data development, spatial analysis, and data integration.
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and timely manner with customers, project leads, and team members
  • Ability to define technical workflows and processing methodologies
  • Professionalism, strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a team player attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and be accountable and responsible for the tasks assigned to you
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and energy to succeed
  • Self-motivated to pursue continuous learning opportunities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working on GIS Transportation projects (Right-of-Way, safety analysis, roadway characteristic collection, etc.)
  • Experience working with Esri Roads and Highways and Linear Referencing Systems and data models.
  • Experience working in versioned database environments i.e., Enterprise Geodatabases (SDE)
  • Proficiency with FME to build geospatial workflows and perform geospatial analysis
  • Proficiency with scripting languages e.g. Python, R
  • Proficiency with CADD tools such as AutoDesk and MicroStation
  • GISP Certified

Salary Range: 60K - 75K annual
