The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for manufacturing operations by ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while driving continuous improvement across the site. Partnering with the site leadership team, you will develop high-performing teams, execute operational strategies, and deliver business results. You will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Lead manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and at optimal cost.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive operational performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), quality, and regulatory requirements, including ISO, TS, and GMP standards.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing performance.
  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities to achieve customer service, inventory, and capacity goals.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Optimize supply chain performance by improving delivery, lead times, inventory, and overall operating costs.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure manufacturing effectiveness and operational excellence.
  • Support new product introductions to ensure operational readiness and successful product launches.
  • Provide leadership for a large manufacturing organization, including direct oversight of four Plant Operations Supervisors.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Operations Management (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Eight (8) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Experience in a PSM chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of incident investigations, tier accountability, Lean manufacturing, and employee engagement practices.
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing operations with a proven ability to deliver results in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Experience developing and executing operational strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), quality systems, employee relations, and regulatory compliance, including ISO, TS, GMP, and PSM standards.
