A privately held manufacturing company in the Tulsa area is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and provide leadership across production activities.


Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for directing manufacturing operations, coordinating shop personnel and resources, and supporting company leadership in achieving safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, and financial objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and production personnel, providing direction, resolving production issues, and promoting accountability across production areas.
  • Oversee production workflow, staffing, equipment utilization, and delivery performance to support customer commitments and company objectives.
  • Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with applicable customer requirements, quality policies, approved processes, specifications, and company procedures.
  • Promote and enforce employee safety requirements, identify hazards, and support corrective actions and continuous safety improvement.
  • Analyze operational performance, identify constraints and inefficiencies, and implement or recommend improvements to processes, workflow, and resource utilization.
  • Participate in long-term business, capacity, staffing, and resource planning with department and executive leadership.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets and resource plans, including staffing, tools, equipment, maintenance, and special programs.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and development of qualified operations personnel.
  • Coordinate priorities and operational needs with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Human Resources, and other support functions.
  • Communicate operational performance, risks, resource needs, and recommended actions to management and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance of shop equipment; maintenance activities may be delegated to qualified personnel or service providers.
  • Review and approve operational expenditures within assigned authority and perform other duties as assigned to support operations.


Qualifications

  • Preferably a minimum of five years of operations management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a precision, regulated, or quality-driven manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, production flow, shop equipment, and applicable quality requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead personnel and drive performance toward safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with shop employees, office personnel, management, customers, suppliers, and other business partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and follow-through skills, including the ability to support decisions with relevant information and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, respond to production issues, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
