There's something satisfying about working with your hands and seeing the results of your precision at the end of every shift. As a Taper in our wood manufacturing facility, your detail-oriented work is a critical step in producing a quality finished product. Prefer to work evenings? Earn more with our 2nd shift differential and keep your mornings free.
Paying attention and doing it right the first time? That's exactly the kind of person we're looking for.
What You'll Do
As a Taper, you play a key role in the veneer manufacturing process — joining thin sheets of wood veneer with precision tape before they are bonded together in production.
  • Apply tape to join thin veneer sheets so they stay secured and won't split during production
  • Inspect veneer sheets for quality and specification conformance before taping
  • Detect and report defective materials or quality issues to your supervisor
  • Complete required production documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all safety regulations
  • Follow lockout/tagout and other prescribed safety procedures
You'll be stationed at one workstation — this is focused, hands-on work that rewards consistency and care.
Who Thrives in This Role
  • You take pride in doing detail-oriented work correctly every time
  • You're comfortable standing and working at a stationary position for a full shift
  • You have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • You can follow written and verbal instructions precisely
  • You work well independently and hold yourself to a high standard
  • You're reliable — you show up, on time, every day
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred — but not required to apply
  • 1 year of factory or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods at a stationary workstation
  • Strong manual dexterity; close vision and color vision required
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
What You'll Get
  • $17.65/hr — paid weekly
  • Evening shift — $0.65/hr shift differential
  • Monday–Friday | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM | Monday–Friday schedule
  • Immediate start — no waiting
  • Stable manufacturing environment — consistent hours
  • Temp-to-hire opportunity — grow with a company that values your work
